About MK Hair Stylist

My name is Mauwa Kabwe and I am the founder of MK Hair Stylist. I learnt how to do my first braid at a very young age and I fell in love with hair styling. After many years of practice through an apprenticeship in hairdressing, I not only get to do what I love, but I get to meet new people, use my creative expression, build my interpersonal skills and use my creativity. I find this career very rewarding and it fulfils a lifelong dream of starting my own business. African culture is made up of many fashionable exotic styles and symbols, which also incorporate the significance of hairstyling. In our culture, hair has always been seen as a symbol of strength, beauty and power. For many years, women have used their hairstyles to communicate their social status, marital status and religious beliefs. In some cultures, certain hairstyles were reserved for married women while others were only worn by unmarried women. In other cultures, hairstyles were used to indicate a woman's tribe or clan. Today, there are many different African hairstyles to choose from, whether you want a traditional look or something more modern. If you're looking for a new style, why not try one of our luxury wigs made from 100% human hair!
